| New
Year - New Goals for 2009!
Hello fellow toastmasters. 2009 is just around the corner
and it's time to stop and take a look at how far you've progressed.
We have 6 months left in the Toastmasters' year. Are you where
you want to be? Do you want to give a speech? Need a mentor
to practice with or help you? Let us know. Everyone is here
to help you.
Time
to start thinking about an Officers Role
Before you know it, June '09 will be upon us and it will be
time to elect new officers. It is very important that every
member of the club gets to participate and becomes an Officer
at one point in his/her years as a toastmasters. It is a great
system set up by Toastmasters International to help develop
your leadership skills.
You'll learn so many new things about leadership, motivating others, and group dynamics... and it'll be FUN, too!
Filling an officer role does not mean that you are required
to do the job alone. Being an officer simply means that you
are responsible for ensuring that the job gets done. As an
officer, you are allowed -- indeed, encouraged -- to ask other
members of the club to help you fulfill your duties.
Another benefit is that serving as a club officer for at least
six months satisfies one of the requirements for Advanced
Leader Bronze recognition!
